DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE THIS CHRISTMAS

With the economy in the crapper for most of our industry, a lot of people will take advantage of Christmas parties to let off a little frustration and drink more than they usually do.  I've seen men and women that normally only have a mixed drink occasionally drink more at one party than they have for months and then attempt to drive home.  I hate to admit it but I have never taken the keys from anyone.  After watching this public service video from Australia, there won't be any hesitation on my part this year.

This video is a collage of TAC ads from the past 20 years and I have to warn you that it is very graphic but maybe that's what we need to finally understand the hell that drunk driving causes to innocent people.  BTW, the death toll for drunk driving has dropped by 50% in Australia since they started airing these ads.

Wow. Very powerful. Every driver should be made to watch this. Major point proven. I agree with you. I'll have no problem calling a cab or taking someone home.

Thanks Coach. We all need a sobering dose of reality from time to time. If only one person changes their behavior.....

Good advice Coach. The tactic that I have used successfully in the past is offer to drive them home. If they refuse, I tell them that if they insist on driving, I am going to call the police with a REDDI report and a description of their vehicle and tag #. I explain that I have loved ones out there using the same streets and highways. And you know, I haven't lost a single friend as a result.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday.
