The fire last week that consumed a 100 unit apartment complex in Rahway, NJ is being investigated now that the investigators can get into the building.  The snow yesterday won't be any help.  The buildings were NOT hooked up to public electricity and a report from the scene said that one there was temporary power to the building by extension cords, probably from generators used by the subcontractors working on the interior.

No cause has been given and it might take weeks before it is determined.

The buildings were modular units manufactured by Excel Custom Homes in their Liverpool, PA plant.  It was one of the larger projects Excel has built in recent years.  Without public power and water supplied to the buildings, it is logical to conclude that the fire was caused by outside forces.
