Excavation began last week for a $4 million residence hall on the Ferrum College campus, which will be built by Mod-U-Kraf Homes in Rocky Mount, NC.

This is the second modular dormitory to be constructed on campus by Mod-U-Kraf. The first was Clark Hall in 2008.

The new building has 31,000 square feet of space and includes a 1,000-square-foot conference room overlooking Chapman Pond.

Mod-U-Kraf and All American Homes were recently acquired by H.I.G., the investment company that owns Excel Homes in PA.  With three of the top modular names in the US, they are now a powerful organization in the modular housing business.
