AUSTRIALIAN MODULAR FACTORY BOUGHT BY PRIVATE INVESTORS

It's not only happening in the U.S., it's also happening around the globe.  Private investors are not only buying modular housing factories, they are starting to gobble up commercial modular plants.

TDR Capital, a British private equity firm, has agreed to acquire Ausco Modular, an Australian modular homebuilder, from Waco International for approximately A$650 million ($690M US)

Large apartment complex by Ausco Modular

TDR Capital already owns Williams Scotsman, Algeco and Elliot modular companies.  Maybe H.I.G. and Cavco have the right idea.

Along with your post on an Algeco Scottsman acquisition they have made 5 or so acquisitions thus far in calendar year 2011. One can see in their review of the Alegeco Scottsman operations why they have created value in their operations along with growing the company via timely acquisitions. Strong management, good financial standing and good markets in Europe, Austrailia, etc. will continue to see this fine company grow.
