Integrity Building Systems Inc., of Milton, PA and IconLegacy Custom Modular Homes LLC, of Selinsgrove, PA, have signed an agreement to combine operations before the end of the year.

Richard Rowe, an owner of Integrity, said negotiations are continuing. By joining forces, the companies will be in a better position to rise above the economic woes that have confronted the housing industry for the past several years, he said.

Integrity, located in the Milton Industrial Park, has had layoffs over the past two years.

“We went from a high of 170 people down to the present 60 to 65,” Rowe said.

Icon Legacy's Dan Stimely will lead the new company.  The operation will be under the Icon Legacy name, and while the same products will continue to be manufactured, a new product line will be introduced.  Does this mean that the IBS brand will disappear?

Icon Legacy, on Sand Hill Road, has been in business in Selinsgrove since the fall of 2007, and has about 105 full-time workers.

Stimely said he does not plan on any of those jobs being lost. In fact, Icon plans to keep as many of the employees from Integrity as possible, increasing the combined workforce to 150.

This is an interesting turn of events. Maybe the modular home industry is starting to realize that there is strength in working together. Good Luck Icon Legacy.

IBS hasn't been much of a presence in the modular home business anyway. Now ICON can take over their builders and give them good sales reps for a change.
