LaValley Claremont Building Supply announced its acquisition, on August 1, of New England Homes, New Hampshire based manufacturer of modular homes with over fifty years of new home sales and manufacturing experience.

The LaValley organization, founded in 1962 and currently operating under the names of LaValley Building Supply, Middleton Building Supply, DiPrizio Pine Sales and Preferred Building Systems, is comprised of eleven lumber and building supply locations throughout Vermont and New Hampshire, manufactures wall panels, roof trusses, interior and exterior doors, eastern white pine and modular homes at its Preferred Building Systems facility which commenced operations in 2006 in Claremont, New Hampshire.

With the acquisition, the LaValley team is blending the talents and experience of two long standing New England family owned businesses. New England Homes, founded by Dan Donahue in 1961, has been the longest operating, privately held modular manufacturer in the country. Throughout the years the company has proven its ability to not only identify and respond to shifts and trends within the home building industry but has also demonstrated the stability to overcome the challenges of change in the economic landscape.

The New England Homes team will continue its sales, engineering and administrative operations at its new location in Dover, New Hampshire while manufacturing of its homes shifts to the Preferred Building Systems’ Claremont location.
