Each year, the employees at HandCrafted Homes in Henderson, NC, collect canned foods, money and/or toys for half-dozen or so employees that are truly struggling to make their families’ Christmases Merry. Requests are made of all employees for their children’s clothes sizes, ages and sex so that appropriate gifts can be purchased for the families selected.

Handcrafted also purchases McDonald’s gift cards for all the children of their employees, then mail them to the children with a note to let them know how much they appreciate the work their parent does for Handcrafted and thanking them for sharing their parent with them.

The four employees pictured built the shed from materials donated by HCH. The employees pictured are: Kent Hartsock, Set Crew Supervisor, John Willis, Set and Transportation Manager, Tom Stinson, Production Foreman, Cecilio Martinez, Set Crew.
In an effort to help more families this year, HCH donated the materials and labor to build a shed to raffle off. All of the proceeds from the raffle will go towards gifts and food for the families selected. Bonnie Peoples, Service Coordinator, has headed up the effort to raffle the shed. She has hauled the shed to the local Wal-Mart parking lot and sold tickets each weekend since Thanksgiving. She has even been accompanied by Santa a few times.

Christmas is alive and well at Handcrafted Homes.

Coach, this is a wonderful example of the Christmas Spirit. I wonder how many other modular home factories are doing similar things for their employees. God bless everyone this Christmas.
