How Does Your $ per Sq Ft Compare to the Industry?

I am not a big believer in $ per Sq Ft but it must still have some validity as the US Commerce Department still uses it for new home construction.

Here is what homeowners paid in 2011 for their new homes excluding lot and improvements.

Hi Coach,

So as I read the graph almost half are paying less than $90/ft and a large % are paying less than $70/ft.
So who is making any money? If this is the retail purchase of NEW construction the builder is building for at least 10% less than those numbers...at least. Wow!!

Randy, this is from the Commerce Department, a branch of our mighty federal government. They would never include HUD homes in their list or would they? Hmmm

so does this mean that the area with the highest percentage would be the basis?
