Modular Housing's Fallen Flags

The housing recession that started in 2008 was not kind to the modular housing industry. Here are just some of the factories that closed since then. If I missed some, let me know.

Safeway Homes in Mississippi also closed.

Liberty Homes in Statesville NC- closed March 2009 building 100% off frame modular since 2007

Carolina Building Systems in Salisbury NC closed the factory in 2014- trying to build CBS product at the Lillington NC Champion plant which builds HUD also at the Lillington plant. We will see how that works..... my guess, not so well

Hi-Tech Housing, Inc. is alive and well and acquired the manufacturing rights of Indiana Building Systems, Pinnacle and Shamrock Homes.

The All American Homes plant in Milliken, Colorado was closed and the building sold.
