Mr. Valenti, 62, Glenmaura Drive in Moosic, was arraigned Thursday on six criminal complaints accusing him of taking payments from three couples for modular homes, but never delivering the homes and never repaying the money. Two other complaints say Mr. Valenti delivered homes that didn’t meet the quality standards of their agreement. The final complaint says the company delivered a home to an individual about two years after finalizing the purchase and failed to live up to the installation agreement.

Magisterial District Judge Diana Malast on Thursday arraigned Mr. Valenti on theft charges filed by Luzerne County Detectives and released him on $82,000 unsecured bail.
In June, state Attorney General Kathleen Kane filed a civil action in Luzerne County court accusing him of unfair trade practices and violations of the Consumer Protection Law.

In a phone call following his arraignment, Mr. Valenti said he’s trying to keep his business afloat and pay everyone back.
