In Maine, one module of a modular home broke its moorings and fell off its carrier the other day. That is not good news for the trucking company, the builder or the factory.
However, what is interesting and very noteworthy is what appears to be a total lack of damage to it including overhangs and eaves. This is one well-built modular home and it very typical of what all modular homes are today.
I would be curious to see the total amount of damage a site built home would incur in an identical accident. Yeah, it would probably be a total loss! Score another victory for modular home construction.
