Zeta Communities Shutters Sacramento Factory

Green modular homebuilder Zeta Communities Inc. shut down its factory at McClellan Park in Sacramento, CA without warning this week.

The company on Tuesday reported to California state employment officials that it was permanently closing its Sacramento operation and laying off 122 employees that same day. The state’s employment department posted the layoff notice Friday afternoon.

It's unclear if the San Francisco-based company is still in business. Officials could not be reached by phone and the Zeta Communities web site was down on Friday. Its Facebook page hasn't been updated since November. The company leases 91,000 square feet at McClellan.

It might have occurred because of recent Supreme Court rulings for restrictive building laws in Cities where Zeta did operate.
