In light of recent discussions at the Midwest Modular Boot Camp, I am hosting a Modular Round Table for factory owners, general managers, builders and suppliers on November 2 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Even though many factories are busy today, the future of custom modular home construction, especially in the New England the Mid-Atlantic regions, where the majority of design centric modular builders and manufacturers are located, could be dramatically altered without further action.
Presenting an organized front, recruiting younger builders, providing builder education, and improving the way we deliver, set, build and finish our homes are just a few of the topics we need to discuss.
We need to begin now.
Not when sales begin to drop, not when our aging builder base retires or pass away and not when we trying to figure out ways to keep the production lines running.
Last years’ Round Tables produced a consensus that factories and builders need to communicate more effectively and push forward on a marketing program. The MHBA followed through on this and today they have the Consumer Awareness Program (CAP) in place and growing.
