Three More New Prefabs Companies You May Have Missed

This is the second installment about new modular and prefab companies that have recently entered the housing market. Each of these companies has created a new way to build and market homes and components.

They build everything from affordable to luxury for new home buyers looking for energy efficiency and a new way to build their dream home.

Here are the next three new modular and prefab manufacturers:

Emagispace® Inc. is an interior construction and design innovator that has developed a sustainable building block technology to re-imagine what’s possible for the construction of interior space. The EmagiBlock® platform was conceptualized around the idea that building elegant, versatile interior space doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag, long lead times, difficult storage or materials that end up in a landfill.

This LA, CA outfit just raised $4.2 million in Series A funding led by Alpha Edison.

Blokable CEO Aaron Holm was a product manager for Amazon’s physical retail locations.

While he was working with Amazon on Amazon Go and Amazon Books heI started to connect the inefficiencies of custom built architecture and construction with what he was seeing with homelessness and housing affordability in Seattle. Every build was a custom job that started from scratch and took many months or years to build even the simplest of projects. The process was incredibly inefficient and it seemed obvious that someone needed to build a housing product that could be ordered, built just in time in a factory, delivered on a truck, and installed on site in a matter of months or weeks.

Though founded in 2007 it is not technically a new prefab company but very few people outside the CA market are even aware of of them.

The essence of Proto Homes’ products, which sets it apart from all other homebuilders and prefab companies is the patent-pending technology, Hyperspace+Core™.   It offers a new approach and methodology for design and construction. Their patented ProtoCore is the utility engine of the home that can meter, monitor and control all mechanical, technology and automation systems, while the Hyperspace is a prefabricated building envelope.

Proto Homes is ushering in a new era of Prefab Homes. Together with their Core technology, signature vaulted ceilings and sweeping open spaces, they have created a unique spin on prefabricated homes.
